The Gujadhur Stable scored 21 wins in the Maiden Cup, with their 19th win coming courtesy of Vettel, who sadly passed away this morning (14.02.2023). In South Africa, Vettel took part in 13 races, winning three times and finishing in the placings on seven occasions. He was runner up to Jackson in the 2012 Daily News 2000, while in the Vodacom Durban July that same year, he finished 6th, 1.4 lengths behind Pomodoro.

On our turf, Vettel raced 27 times, winning five races. Of course, his biggest win was in the 2015 Air Mauritius Maiden Cup, winning the race from start-to-finish with Kevin Ghunowa on board. His other wins were in the 2013 MTC Bicentenary Cup, 2013 Mauritius Derby, 2015 MTC 175th Anniversary Cup and 2015 Coupe des Presidents, being crowned Champion Stayer in 2015.
